The short version: we collect what's needed to run your channel and keep the service safe — nothing more. We don't sell your data, we don't run ad tracking, and we don't watch your streams.

Live video is delivered through a content delivery network so it reaches your audience quickly wherever they are. It is broken into short pieces that exist only while the stream is running and are removed shortly after it ends. Unless a feature explicitly says otherwise, we do not record or archive your streams, and nobody at PrivateSteam watches them.
The exception is enforcement: where we are investigating a report — a copyright dispute, or a violation of the Terms & Content Policy — we may retain relevant material for as long as the investigation, or the law, requires.
A comment is published with your display name and profile picture to everyone watching that stream — treat it as public to that audience. It is held only while the stream is live: when the stream ends the comments are gone, and nothing is archived.
The streamer can delete any comment on their channel and can ban you from commenting there. A ban is stored against their channel until they lift it. They are never shown your email address — banning and unbanning work through an anonymous handle. We keep a record of a comment beyond the stream only where we're investigating a report of abuse or a breach of the Terms.
If you turn them on, we tell you when a channel you follow starts streaming. The notification itself is empty — it carries no channel name and no message. Your browser wakes this site, and the site asks us what's live and writes the text on your device.
That's deliberate: it means Google's and Apple's notification servers, which deliver the wake-up, never learn which channels you follow or what you were told. Turning the bell off deletes the subscription.
We use a small number of providers to run the service, and share only what each one needs:
We do not sell or rent your personal data to anyone, and we do not share it for advertising. We may disclose information where the law requires it, or to protect the safety of people using the service.
PrivateSteam isn't for children under 13. If we learn that an account belongs to a child under 13, we delete it.
