Terms & Content Policy

These terms are the agreement between you and PrivateSteam. By signing in to stream, you accept them. If you don't agree with something here, please don't use the service.

1. What you may stream

A private link is not a licence. Streaming to a small, invited audience is still a public performance in the eyes of copyright law, and the fact that a stream is private does not make unlicensed content permitted here.

Not allowed

• Content you don't hold the rights to — films, TV shows, sports broadcasts, pay-per-view events, concerts, music, or anyone else's video or audio, in whole or in part.
• Re-broadcasting another platform's stream or any paid channel you subscribe to.
• Illegal content of any kind, or content that promotes or facilitates illegal activity.
• Sexual content involving minors, in any form. This results in immediate termination and a report to the relevant authorities.
• Non-consensual intimate content, or footage of people recorded where they had a reasonable expectation of privacy.
• Violence, harassment, hate speech, or threats directed at people or groups.
• Impersonation of another person, brand, or organisation.
• Malware, phishing, scams, or attempts to break, overload, or work around the service's limits.

Your responsibility

You are responsible for everything that goes out through your channel, including anything shown on screen behind you, played in the background, or contributed by guests you bring on. When in doubt about whether you have the right to broadcast something — assume you don't, and get permission first.

2. Copyright reports and termination

What happens when a rights holder contacts us:

• We may end the live stream at once and revoke the share links to it.
• We may remove the reported material and any stored copies of it.
• We may suspend or permanently terminate the account behind it, including any remaining streaming-time balance, which is not refunded in cases of violation.
• Repeat infringement ends the account. An account that attracts more than one valid report will be terminated and not reinstated.

Reporting a copyright infringement

If you own rights in material being streamed on PrivateSteam without your permission, email [email protected] with: the material concerned, the channel or link where it appears, proof that you hold the rights, your contact details, and a statement that you believe in good faith that the use is not authorised. We act on valid reports as quickly as we can.

If you believe a report was wrong

Reply to the notice we send you, explaining why you hold the rights or why the use is permitted (for example, a licence you can produce). If the material was removed in error we will restore access. Deliberately false reports and deliberately false counter-claims are both grounds for termination.

3. Your account

• You sign in with Google. One Google account is one PrivateSteam account and one channel.
• You must be at least 13 years old, and old enough to agree to these terms where you live.
• Keep your sign-in secure. Anything streamed from your account is treated as streamed by you.
• New accounts get a starting balance of streaming time so you can try the service. Streaming consumes that balance; when it runs out, a live stream ends.
• One live stream per account at a time.
• Notifications about channels you follow are optional and off until you turn them on; the bell turns them off again.
• You can stop using PrivateSteam whenever you like and ask us to delete your account — see the Privacy Policy.

4. Comments

Signed-in viewers can comment on a stream while it is live. Comments are live only: they are not kept once the stream ends.

If you're commenting

What you write is yours and you're responsible for it. The content rules in section 1 apply to comments as much as to video — no harassment, hate speech, threats, sexual content involving minors, personal information about other people, spam, or links to any of that. You can be removed from a channel's comments, or lose your account, for breaking them.

If you're streaming

Your channel is yours to run. You can turn comments off entirely, delete any comment, and ban an individual viewer from commenting — that lasts until you lift it. All of it is in your dashboard while you're live. We may also remove comments or accounts that break these terms.

5. Your share links

Share links are how people get in. Anyone holding a link can watch, so treat a link like a key: send it to the people you mean to invite, and revoke it when you're done. You are responsible for who you hand links to and for what they do with them. We can revoke any link at any time where these terms require it.

6. How we enforce these rules

Where we believe these terms have been broken, we may end a live stream, revoke links, restrict what an account can do, suspend it, or terminate it — with notice where practical, and without notice where the violation is serious, illegal, or ongoing. We may also keep records of a violation and pass them to the authorities where the law requires it.

7. The service itself

• PrivateSteam is provided as is. We work hard on reliability, but we don't guarantee uninterrupted or error-free streaming.
• We may change, pause, or discontinue features. Where a change materially affects you, we'll say so in advance if we can.
• To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, lost profits, or lost content arising from your use of the service.
• Live streams are delivered as they happen. Unless a feature says otherwise, we do not keep a recording of your stream after it ends.

8. Changes and contact

We may update these terms. When we do, the date at the top changes and you'll be asked to accept the current version the next time you sign in to stream. Continuing to use the service after an update means you accept it.
